Note for Sabbia International: this is a standard starting policy written against how this website actually works. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Before relying on it, have it checked against the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019 and any other law that applies to where you operate, and confirm the retention periods and the data protection contact below are the ones you actually use.
This policy explains what personal information Sabbia International Ltd collects through this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
Who we are
Sabbia International Ltd, Rehema College House, Third Floor, Suite A04, P.O Box 104786-00101, Nairobi, Kenya. We are the data controller for information collected through this website.
What we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us. There is no account system on this website and we do not ask you to register.
When you submit an enquiry through our contact form, we collect:
- Your name
- Your organisation
- Your email address
- Your phone number, if you provide one
- Your location, if you provide one
- The type of enquiry you select
- The message you write, including any products you have added to an enquiry
If you contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp instead, we hold whatever you send us in that message.
Our web server also keeps standard technical logs, which may include your IP address, browser type and the pages you requested. These are used to keep the site running and secure.
Why we use it
- To answer you. We use your contact details and message to respond to your enquiry and to prepare quotations, specifications and lead times.
- To carry out work. If your enquiry becomes a project, we use your details to deliver it and to keep in touch about it.
- To keep records. We keep correspondence about quotations and projects as a business record.
- To keep the site working. Technical logs help us diagnose faults and protect against abuse.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it to send marketing you have not asked for.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only where it is needed:
- With our hosting and email providers, who process it on our behalf
- Within the Sabbia International group, where your enquiry concerns more than one division
- With suppliers or partners where that is necessary to answer your enquiry, and only as much as is necessary
- Where we are required to by law
Cookies and third-party services
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Your browser may store small amounts of data locally to remember choices you make on the site, such as items added to an enquiry before you submit it. This stays in your browser and is not sent to us until you submit the form.
We load fonts from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests those files from Google’s servers, which means Google receives your IP address. We do not control that request beyond choosing to use the service.
If you use a WhatsApp link on this site, you leave our website and WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy apply to that conversation.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as it is useful to the relationship, and project records for as long as we need them for contractual, tax and legal purposes. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or archive it securely.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete information we no longer have a reason to keep
- Stop using your information for a particular purpose
- Send you a copy of information you gave us
To make any of these requests, email us using the address at the foot of this page. We will respond within the time the law allows. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold. No website or email system is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information such as financial details through the contact form.
Children
This website is aimed at businesses and organisations. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Links to other sites
Where we link to another organisation’s website, we are not responsible for its content or its privacy practices.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
