Infrastructure Division
The work that everything else sits on.
Civil works, earthworks, roads, drainage and utility connections, plus the mechanical and electrical systems that keep a finished building running. The parts of a project that are difficult to fix later.
What we do
Groundwork decides the rest.
Foundations, drainage and services are the cheapest things to get right and the most expensive to correct. Once a slab is poured or a road is surfaced, every later fix costs a multiple of what it would have cost to do properly.
So we survey before we design, design before we build, and test before we hand over. It is not a complicated method. It is just applied consistently.
Types of work
Civil, structural and services.
-
Site works and earthworks
Clearance, cut and fill, ground improvement and platform preparation, based on survey rather than assumption.
-
Foundations and structure
Piling, foundations, reinforced concrete and structural steel for buildings and industrial facilities.
-
Roads and drainage
Access roads, hardstanding, surface water drainage and stormwater management.
-
Utility connections
Water, power, sewer and telecoms connections coordinated with the relevant authorities.
-
Mechanical and electrical
HVAC, electrical distribution, backup power and specialist services such as medical gases.
-
Industrial facilities
Warehousing, plant buildings and processing facilities built around the equipment they house.
Project capability
Surveyed, built, tested.
We survey before we price
Topographical, geotechnical and services surveys establish what is actually under a site before a number goes on paper. Most infrastructure disputes start with a ground condition nobody checked.
- Topographical and geotechnical survey
- Existing services located and recorded
- Environmental and drainage assessment
- Design and programme built on the findings
Commissioned, not just completed
Systems are tested under load and signed off before handover, with the drawings and operating information that let somebody maintain them in five years.
- Load testing and systems commissioning
- As-built drawings and operating documentation
- Staff familiarisation on plant and systems
- Defects period with a named point of contact
Who we work with
Projects that cannot afford to be rebuilt.
-
Government and agencies
Public works and programme-funded infrastructure delivered to fixed scopes.
-
Industrial operators
Plant, warehousing and processing facilities built around installed equipment.
-
Property developers
Enabling works, foundations and services for commercial and residential schemes.
-
Healthcare clients
The civil and services work behind the group's own health facility projects.
-
Mining operations
Access roads, hardstanding and site infrastructure for extraction and handling.
-
Utilities and telecoms
Connections, ducting and supporting civil works.
Why us
Why build with Sabbia.
-
Survey-led pricing
Numbers built on ground investigation rather than an allowance, which is what keeps a variation from arriving in month three.
-
Civil and services
Groundworks and building services under one contract, so the two are coordinated rather than sequenced by argument.
-
Group capability
Procurement, logistics and equipment expertise from across four divisions available to a single site.
-
Documented handover
Tested systems, as-built drawings and a defects period with somebody answering the phone.
Got a site that needs groundwork?
Send us the location and what has to go on it. We will tell you what the ground can take and what it costs to prepare.
